Mariesolle & the still’s vats — Réunion

Our story & our philosophy

From Réunion
to Mauritius

Founded in 2020 in Réunion before settling in Mauritius, Aromanou carries the passion of Mariesolle, a certified aromatologist, and of Nicolas.

  • Traditional distillation

Gentle extraction with the copper still, preserving the plant’s soul and aromatic power.

  • Absolute purity

100% pure, whole oils, with no chemical additives or alteration. A chemotype sheet for every batch.

  • Ethics & integrity

A responsible approach, rooted in Indian Ocean biodiversity and respect for harvesters.

01 — Our storyAromanou

Our conviction

Elevating the plant with passion

Aromanou was born from a conviction: restoring plants to their role in our everyday balance, through authentic extraction craftsmanship and a generous sharing of knowledge.

02 — ManifestoAromanou

One site, three organs

A resilient model

The garden feeds the still, the still is cooled by rainwater, the rain irrigates the garden. Nothing leaves the loop.

The Garden

Chemical-free growing — geranium, lemongrass, ravintsara. Thick mulching and companion planting of species acclimatised to the Mascarenes.

The aromatic garden seen from the veranda: growing beds, a potted geranium, hoops and shrubs

The Water

Roof water flows down the gutters into tanks, then irrigates through oyas — buried porous clay jars. Zero waste in the face of drought.

Roofs → Tanks → Oyas → Roots

The Still

The critical resource

Mastering water

  • The perfect loop

Rain fills the tanks. The tanks fill the oyas and also cool the still’s coil.

  • The oya technique

A buried terracotta jar. Water migrates slowly to the roots, as the plant needs it.

  • Anticipating climate

With climate uncertainty (El Niño episodes), installing the tanks costs far less than replanting a lost garden.

The moment

Why fund it
now ?

  • The still is waiting

It’s already paid for. It belongs to us and is waiting in Réunion. The absolute priority: funding its journey — sea freight, customs, delivery — to Mapou.

  • The banks and us

Aromanou has been registered since 2022, but real activity only started in February 2026. Banks classify us as a start-up with no track record. A conventional loan is blocked — a private partner isn’t.

A door opening: AFCFTA

Since 2021, the African Continental Free Trade Area has opened a market of 1.3 billion consumers and roughly $3.4 trillion in combined GDP. Mauritius has ratified the agreement and already trades on preferential terms with 23 African countries. The document detailing AFCFTA opportunities for Aromanou can be shared privately on request.

05 — Why nowAromanou

Use of funds

€21,000

Two components, two horizons. €15,000 fund the equipment — a durable asset of the company. €6,000 cover a short-term cash bridge, until distillation opens the tour-operator channel. Line-by-line detail of the equipment component, opposite.

Component A — Equipment · €15,000

Component B — Bridge cash · €6,000

A timing squeeze, not a structural problem: we currently hold around €40,000 in stock (shop-price value) ready to sell, and distillation — once the still is operating — opens the tour-operator channel that speeds up that stock’s turnover. This component covers the site’s fixed costs while that stock converts into cash. Disbursed in full at signing, repaid as a priority over the first 6 months, at the pace of stock turnover and the first tour-operator receipts.

How the money is released — equipment component

Disbursement against verified milestones

Rather than a single payment, the €15,000 equipment component is released in tranches, against proof of execution — invoice, photo, delivery receipt — with a progress update at every step. The cash component (€6,000), more urgent, follows a separate schedule — see “What protects you”.

How to join us

Three structures, one goal

You choose the structure that suits you best. The right one depends on what you’re looking for: a fixed, predictable return, upside potential, or a genuine stake in the adventure. The total amount (€21,000, including €6,000 of short-term cash) is allocated to a single instrument — to be discussed together.

A · Simple loan

€21,000 over 36 months, 7% annual rate. The €6,000 cash component is disbursed immediately and repaid as a priority over the first 6 months; the €15,000 equipment component follows a 6-month grace period, then quarterly amortisation. Aromanou Ltd’s share capital is untouched.

7% / yearFixed return, no shareholder risk

B · Convertible note

The same structure as the simple loan, with one option: convert the balance into Aromanou Ltd shares at a future financing round, at a discount on the valuation then set. The fixed return remains the safety net; conversion is the upside.

You chooseFixed return or conversion into shares, when the time comes

C · Equity stake

A direct minority stake in Aromanou Ltd, alongside Nicolas and Mariesolle, who remain majority owners and operators. Amount, valuation and governance are set together, with an independent accountant — not from this page.

Our recommendation, in all honesty

At this stage — one year of real operation, no positive balance sheet yet — we favour the simple loan or the convertible note: they fund the same final stretch without locking in today a valuation that wouldn’t reflect what Aromanou will be worth in eighteen months. An equity stake remains open if that’s what you’re looking for.

What protects you

A framework designed to surprise no one

A lender or investor who has never worked with us deserves clear safeguards, not a promise. Here is what governs each structure.

Milestone-based disbursement

You are not signing a blank cheque. The equipment component (€15,000) is released in tranches, against proof of execution — invoice, photo, delivery receipt. The cash component (€6,000), more urgent, is disbursed in full at signing.

No surprise dilution

Under the loan or convertible-note structures, Aromanou Ltd’s share capital is never touched without a written, explicit agreement on the conversion terms.

A tangible asset in return

The already-paid-for still, its base, and the funded equipment remain identifiable assets of the company — not an expense that evaporates into day-to-day running costs.

Before any signature

Aromanou Ltd’s articles of association and share capital breakdown are provided on request, under a simple non-disclosure agreement. The MRA distillation licence will be issued once the surety bond is in place and the still has arrived on site — we will share it with you as soon as we have it. Any loan agreement or shareholders’ pact will be drafted by an independent Mauritian lawyer before signing — neither you nor we are committing to anything on the basis of this presentation alone.
